I used a red ink induced water brush and to create a background. When it dried, I drew over it with white ink, Japanese Brush pens and gouache to create the image. The piece was my reaction to society’s willingness to accept masks and facades, complacency with what’s bad and ultimately dangerous. Ed. Note: We posted this image originally in 2017. A visitor to our blog brought it to our attention again recently. The symbolism of this troubling image resonates on many levels in these days of the Covid-19 crisis.
